The starting point was a fascination with traffic lights as machine-coded systems that silently choreograph human movement. At places like Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo, thousands obey the authority of red and green, without knowing the coded timings operating in the background.
In parallel, I was drawn to research on plant communication, where ultra-weak electrical signals reveal how trees react and communicate with their environment.

In the installation Arboreal Authority, a living tree is extended through sculptural forms and laser barriers, becoming like the hidden algorithm of a pedestrian crossing—an organic system that unexpectedly governs how we move through space.
